Circular 44/2023/TT-BTC was released on June 29, 2023, to temporarily modify fees and charges in several sectors in order to support individuals and businesses. Accordingly, the registration fee in the medical field has been decreased by 30% of the fees stated in Circular 278/2016/TT-BTC. Circular 44/2023/TT-BTC has been in effect from July 1, 2023, until December 31, 2023.

After that, on August 30, 2023, the Minister of Finance promulgates Circular 59/2023/TT-BTC to adjust administrative fees in the health sector. This Circular will replace Circular 278/2016/TT-BTC. The submission fees for registration of class A and B medical devices are unchanged, while the submission fee for registration of class C and D medical devices will go up from VND 5,000,000 to VND 6,000,000.

To summarize the above circulars, the medical device submission fee in Vietnam will be divided into three periods as follows:
