From January 4, 2025, onwards, Thai FDA has tightened medical device advertising rules to prevent misleading claims. Advertisements must align with approved product information, specify target audiences, and include required disclaimers. Stricter enforcement measures target misleads advertising, especially for dermal fillers. Likewise Consumers shall verify approved products on the Thai FDA's website, updated on a weekly bases.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has issued a reminder to manufacturers and marketers to comply with advertising rules for therapeutic goods, particularly on social media, following a rise in non-compliance cases. Key rules include ensuring ads are truthful, promoting only registered goods, adhering to endorsement guidelines, avoiding unapproved uses, clearly presenting risks and health warnings, and ensuring influencer content meets regulatory standards.

In the beginning of 2022, the Therapeutic Goods Advertising Code 2021 came into effect. Six month transition period were given, and sponsors and manufacturer were allowed to either follow the 2018 Code or the 2021 Code until 30th June 2022. From 1 July 2022 onwards the option of complying with the 2018 Code yet no longer applies.

A person who wishes to advertise a medical device in Thailand must obtain a medical device advertising license upon any medical devices marketing activity. Thai FDA had published further advertising announcement regarding the advertising specifications of medical devices that are exempted to proceed advertising license registration to conveniently advertise medical devices.
