During a Special Meeting of Members conducted on July 14, 2021, Medical Device Authority (MDA) has finalized the requirements for importing and distributing this COVID-19 self-test kit. The COVID-19 self-test kit, can only be purchased from licensed community pharmacies and recognised health facilities.

 

To expand the accessibility to the COVID-19 self-test kit, MDA allowed the self-test kit to sell at premises that meet their requirements and conditions as discussed in the meeting conducted on October 13, 2021. . Controls for the growth of the sale of self-test kits will be implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP).

 

Following a series of meetings, MDA decided the sales of COVID-19 self-test kits be expanded to KPDNHEP-approved facilities. Any facility that wants to sell the test kit must obtain approval from KPDNHEP and meet all of the conditions and requirements, including the place's suitability, sales records, and the submission of information on usage, disposal, and reporting. Only COVID-19 self-test kits approved by the MDA are allowed to be sold on these premises.
